Devastating Spells – Part 1
Recently, I’ve been checking out videos on Youtube and I’ve come across a few awesome ones. I though that I would put it up here and share it. The first one is the Famous Spell by Curtly Ambrose on a bouncy and seaming WACA ( Perth ) wicket against Australia. I’ve not seen such a spell of fast bowling in my life. The analysis at one point read 7 for 1 ( ??? ). Doesn’t it sound crazy? It was the first innings of the Fifth Test. Check out the video.
Bracken In Doubt For IPL
Nathan Bracken, the Man Of The Series in the recently concluded CB series has suffered a career threatening injury. His knee cartilage has been found torn and he underwent a surgery last week. The doctor found the cartilage peeling off. The doctor himself said that he was amused to see Nathan Bracken land his foot so hard while bowling even with this injury.
Though Nathan Bracken admitted that he was fairly uncomfortable, he said that this might have ended his International Career. He has been advised eight to ten weeks rest and henceforth will be in doubt for the IPL starting April 18. This will surely hurt the Bangalore Royal Challengers a lot as they would have loved to have this in-form bowler in their ranks. But I’m happy that this career isn’t cut-short.

Dream Debut – Tim Southee
Tim Southee, on debut, made a remarkable entry to the big stage. He picked a 5 for in the first innings against England. But he couldn’t do much with the bat. He is known as a big hitter and his capabilities came to the lime-light during the second innings when he scored the fastest Test fifty for New Zealand and sixth in the all-time list. What an achievement on debut? Could he have asked for more? Here’s a video footage of that blistering innings.
Tendulkar Out Of Second Test
Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the second Test against the South Africans after suffering a problem in his groin. He was not seen on the field for the last part of the fourth day’s play and the entire fifth day’s play. Anil Kumble has said that Tendulkar had aggrevated an existing groing injury and hence will be out of the next match.
Things look still more worse for India as even Anil Kumble is suffering from an injury. However he hasn’t been ruled out of the next game and his reports will be out only on the eve of the next match. In that case Piyush Chawla will get a look in.
The in-form Mohammed Kaif has been called as the replacement for Sachin Tendulkar after his stunning performances in the recent matches. He’s been playing well for quite sometime now and he deserved a recall.
Lets hope that atleast Anil Kumble gets fit in time.
