Chennai Super Kings Make It Three In A Row
Chennai Super Kings have won their second match at their home ground beating the other giants, Kolkatta Knight Riders comprehensively by 9 wickets. This takes them to the top of the table and they are yet to be beaten after their third win in a row. The credit should go to the Chennai Super Kings bowlers, specially Jacob Oram and Muttiah Muralidaran. Jacob Oram removed the deadly pair of Brendon McCullum and Ricky Ponting off successive deliveries after the Kolkatta Knight Riders had got off to a decent start scoring 34 for no loss of 3.3 overs. Muralidaran, on the other hand, bowled with exceptional control and finished off with figures of none for 12 off his quota of 4 overs.
All the other bowlers didn’t let this effort go to the dumps and they too tightened the screws to ensure that the run-flow was in check. A late push was given by Laxmi Ratan Shukla made sure that the Kolkatta Knight Riders ended up with 147. But this never seemed enough as Matthew Hayden, Parthiv Patel and the Chennai Super Kings Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, made short work of the Kolkatta Knight Rider’s attack. The crowd was at its best and every player had their praise for this Chennai Crowd and the Captain said that they will give their best to make sure that they remain unbeaten at home for the entire tournament.
