11 days into IPL. We have seen everything from fastest centuries to ban. What a week this has been for Cricket lovers and Cricket analysts. It has been a stunning display this summer in India which I thought would never happen when I used to watch the English County. Here are some of the stars who’ll go missing from their respective line-up to complete their National Duty.

Brett Lee – This Aussie pacer has picked up four wickets in this edition of IPL and has been vital picking up wickets at the top. In this edition, he has appeared in four games and averages 28 with the ball at an economy of under 7, which is quite good considering the nature of this format. His pace and variations on the flat tracks to decieve batsmen will be missed by King’s XI, Mohali.

Matthew Hayden – The powerful left-hander played a couple of superb innings for his team, Chennai Super Kings. He took the attack to the opposition. He now has the Orange Cap as he leads the list with a total of 189 in four games at an average of 88 and a strike rate of 157.14. The team will miss him badly at the top.

Jacob Oram – Another member of the Chennai Super Kings. he wasn’t successful in the first two games on the IPL. But M.S. Dhoni kept faith in him and he picked up the Man-Of-The-Match in the very next game picking three crucial wickets in the process againt the Kolkatta Knight Riders. His services with the bat lower down the order and his bowling will be missed.

Michael Hussey – He holds the record for the third fastest century in the IPL scored of 50 balls. He has been in very good form and has been dominating attacks. He has been scoring at a rate of 192.06 and averages 121 and has a total of 168 from four games. No doubt why he is called Mr.Cricket as he adapts to any form easily. Chennai Super Kings will miss his consistency.

Brendon McCullum - He set IPL ablaze in the first game. He has been the most explosive batsman in the tournament and is a captain’s delight. He has provided some good starts for the Kolkatta Knight Riders. They will miss this fire power at the top of the order and I don’t think there is any replacement for him. He leads the sixes column with a total of 15 from 4 games.

Ricky Ponting – He had a poor time at IPL averaging 6.66 and scoring 20 from 4 games. But a player like him needs just one knock to get back on track. Kolkatta Knight Riders will miss getting some inputs and strategies form him and will be surely be disappointed to see him go without a good knock.

Daniel Vettori – He just played one game in this edition. But no one can undermine his left arm spin and lusty hitting abilities. He can win you games single handedly on his day. His abilities will be missed by Delhi Daredevils.

Andrew Symonds – He has the second fastest century in IPL. His abilities are World renowned in all the departments. He has done justice to his price tag. he averages 80.50 and has a strike rate of 153.33. His services and ailities will be missed by Hyderabad Deccan Chargers.

Ross Taylor – He played a couple of short but effective innings for his side, Bangalore Royal Challengers. He was destructive. His absence will be a big hole for the Bangalore team who are depleted in the Batting department with no big-hitters in their ranks. He scored a total of 44 runs at 33.50 in two games. He boasts of a strike rate of 209.37 which promised much more.

Simon Katich – This Australian left-hander has been a surprise package. He too has done his bit for the King’s XI Punjab team providing good starts at the top. Yuvraj Singh will miss him for sure for it will bring a lot of pressure on him to fill the gap and score runs which he shared with Katich.

The Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals are the only unchanged sides. Even with full strength, Mumbai Indians are finding it tough to get their magic going.
