The next match for the Mumbai Indians will mark the debut of Sachin Tendulkar into the IPL after being out of the first half of the tournament due to a groin injury. Even after 17 years of International Cricket, Tendulkar will find a few butterflies flying in his tummy. He is bound to shoulder a lot of pressure when he makes his much awaited appearance for the Mumbai Indians against the Chennai Super Kings.

He has played just one T20 game against South Africa which the Indians won comfortably. He managed double figures then but hasn’t played many T20’s in his career. The Mumbai Indians have gone through everything from the slap gate incident to a string of losses and then the victories. Tendulkar’s return will be a big boost for the team which has started to gel with time.

It will be a dream day for any Cricket fan to watch Sachin tendulkar open with Sanath Jayasuriya. This is what the World has been waiting for during this IPL season. Two of his counterparts, Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne have done well to come in turns with this format. Both have been bamboozling batsmen and picking up crucial wickets.

Its for sure that Tendulkar’s skill or ability as a player won’t be a question. But it will be the time he takes to get into the grooves that is to be answered. He has every shot in the book and rather has been a reason for adding more to the books. He is one of the best exponents of paddle sweep. He has done it consistently over the years. This year in Australia, he played a shot which the World had never seen before. Ask Brett Lee about how he felt. I’ve always admired his drives, specially the straight drives that’ll leave everyone stunned. It’ll make the bowler to bowl the same ball again and admire the way its put away to the boundary.

His flicks, these days, have also started blooming. We know how he plays spin. What does he lack? I don’t see anything wrong in his technique or ability. Its probably his mind set that’ll matter the most. He has to come in terms soon and ensure that the Mumbai Indians get into the last four. Mumbai Indians another seven more to go and they should win atleast six more to ensure their semi final birth. Even before he has faced a ball, Tendulkar will feel that the onus is on him to deliver. All he has to do is summon all his abilities and enjoy the game. I don’t think he’ll need any advice after 147 tests and 417 One Day Internationals under his belt. Whatever he does will count, whether he succeeds or not comes later.I’m very sure the media will be following him closely. I’m eagerly waiting to see him in action. So is this mad mad mad world.
