Fishing Symonds Sent Home
Andrew Symonds has been sen back home after missing the important team meeting just a day before the first ODI against the touring Bangladesh Team in Darwin. Andrew Symonds decided to go fishing rather than attending the meeting. He has now been given a month’s time to clear all the charges before CA decides whether or not to board him to tour India. Captain Michael Clarke wa confident that Andrew Symonds would ” get his head right ” in time. Symonds also decided before hand that he would not take part in the optional training session. Clearly, Symonds should have acted responsibly in the absense of seniors like Ricky Ponting, Brett Lee and Matthew Hayden.
Symonds has already been in similar situations in the past when he was not allowed to play the game when he came into the ground under the influence of alcohol at Cardiff against the same opposition and the Australians were beaten in that game. He also missed the team bus in the Carribbean after getting up late. Clearly, he has to put in a lot of thinking.

Isn’t it too minor an infringement to warrant punishment of this scale?
