Ross Taylor played a remarkable innings to ensure that his side were in a comfortable position. He coped up well with the English bowlers bowling bouncers and his authority was something that should have been noted. It was a kind of counter-attacking innings. He displayed a wide range of shots and never looked troubled at all. This is second test century and he put on a note-worthy partnership with Kyle Mills who scored 57.

Earlier in the match, Jacob Oram and Daniel Vettori gave away their wickets when it was important for them to score runs. Daniel Flynn was retired hurt when he was hit by an Anderson bouncer and this meant that the black caps were a batsman short. At the end if the innigs, Ross Taylor remained unbeaten on 154. What a treat it has been from him?

Its game on after a decent total of 381 put on by New Zealand. Who knows, a couple of quick wickets can have England in trouble.
